When I bought my first laser, I thought I was unstoppable. Suddenly, every idea I’d ever had was possible. Baby keepsakes? Check. Wedding décor? Yep. Custom tumblers on a rotary? Why not? I was obsessed.

But here’s the thing nobody tells you: 

Excitement only gets you so far.

Very quickly, I went from “this is amazing” to “holy crap, what am I even doing?” My friends, and even my husband 👀 no hate - had no clue what it meant to be running a business. To this day, he still doesn’t understand the adrenaline rush of nailing your settings, the stress spiral of trying to price your products, or the weird joy of hitting a social media milestone.

So I did what a lot of us do: I spent hours doom-scrolling Facebook groups and forums, too nervous to ask my own questions because I didn’t feel “legit” enough and didn’t want a smart-ass reply from someone who “knew better.” 🙄Meanwhile, I was juggling orders, second-guessing my designs, and wondering if everyone else was thriving while I was drowning.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth: I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. It just felt that way because I was doing it alone. And once I finally found some business friends? Everything changed. I had people to bounce ideas off of, celebrate wins with, and complain to when the laser decided to be moody, again (or maybe it was just me? 😉). Suddenly, running a business felt a whole lot easier—and a whole lot more fun.

But it took me years to get there.
